Our up stream provider (Poplar Bluff Internet, Inc.) has been in negotiations with Windstream including many different levels of managers and executives dealing with DSL reliability, billing practices and over-billing. They have decided to end our 15-year relationship. They are in the process of moving out of the Windstream market area.
This effects all the Show-me.net accounts in the Windstream area.
I apologize deeply that you have been caught in the middle of this and have to change your Internet access as a result. Please contact Windstream (800-843-9214) and request to be switched to Windstream’s DSL service as soon as possible.
Your Email and any other types of services will remain intact and available to you at this time.
We know email is vital to your life and business and want to assure you that your @show-me.net email address can continue to function without issue even if you use Windstream as your provider. You will not lose any email messages nor your email address due to this switch.
The monthly cost to keep your @show-me.net email address is $1.95 or you can pay yearly for $19.95. If you DO NOT want it the @ show-me.net email address please let us know. This is subject to change as we reconstructed our business.
We are not sure when Windstream will be disconnecting your service, so we suggest you promptly make this change by calling 800-843-9214.
Over the next two billing cycles, we will be adjusting each customer’s account to make sure we get your account set up correctly. If you can wait until that email comes thru before you call us with questions, we certainly would appreciate it.
During the course of this month and October we will continue reconcile all accounts.
Here’s what we are asking of our DSL customers:
1. Call Windstream right now (800-843-9214) and ask to switch to their DSL service
a. TELL THEM you already have a DSL modem and that you do not need a new one.
2. Get connected with Windstream service by working with their technicians
a. no one from Windstream should have to come to your location to switch
3. If you don’t want your email address (or one of your child email addresses) please email us that information.
4. Wait for another email from us which gives you the balance on your account and follow up with any questions you have.
If you have problems receiving or sending email once your Windstream service is connected, please contact our office during normal business hours at 223-7511 or Email us email@example.com.
Again, I know the frustration and anger resulting from not being able to connect to the Internet when you need to. Please get switched over to Windstream as soon as possible to avoid any downtime.
